I have taught for 32 years, from New Entrants to Year 7, from a small school in the Manawatu to a large full primary on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula before starting here in I have two bonus daughters step , and three grandchildren. In , I was the regional recipient of the National Excellence in Teaching award, placing fourth nationally. I am a life-long learner, having learnt to ride a motorcycle both road and then trail in my 30s, and how to SCUBA dive five years ago, gaining my Advanced Open Water certificate in I enjoy many crafts, including sewing, knitting, and cross stitch, and I am an avid gardener. I am very passionate about the personal development of children and have a keen interest in watching them progress. My interests include netball, football, rugby, tennis, and ukulele. I really enjoy my role, meeting new parents and students, and being there to help.

Being a support person to so many people is very challenging but also very rewarding. It is very rewarding seeing children catch the reading bug; once they are hooked, there is no going back! I have two children 26 and 18 and a cat 5. Being creative is a big part of me being me and I like to show this as much as possible. I graduated in the UK in and spent the next nine years working in Human Resources.

I immigrated to New Zealand in and met my Kiwi husband, Stew, 18 months later. Our son, Leif, is in Year 6 here; I also have a year-old step-son, Aidan. I love working with the children, watching them develop and grow. My interests are walking, pottery, learning to surf, and anything to do with the water!

I moved to Kerikeri in with my husband, Danny, and our adult son, Dwayne, for a change of pace and the opportunity to own our very own little slice of heaven. I am an avid crossword and wordplay addict; have an impressive collection of elephants from all over the world, love all sports, and am a very competitive lawn bowls player. I grew up in Auckland, where I worked at a hire firm for ten years, before my wife and I moved north to Houhora, where I worked as a greenkeeper and we started a family. We now have two sons, aged 26 years and 6 years, and two girls, aged 17 years and 15 years.

We moved to Kerikeri ten years ago for better opportunities for our children. We have met some wonderful people here, and love living in Kerikeri. I enjoy fishing, playing golf, and spending time with my family.

I am also a retired gymnastics coach. I love working with children of all ages and seeing them overcome their fears and achieve their goals. My other passion is sailing, which I enjoy with my husband, Phil, and son, Alex. My husband and I moved from Auckland three years ago to a large property with plenty of gardening to do, which we both enjoy.

However, even with this competitive advantage, the hotel is terrible. As opposed to giving the owners a public grilling I have instead decided to offer some advice. Here is my 5 point plan which, if implemented, will make your hotel passable. Buy some sun beds and parasols. At the moment there is nowhere to relax. You insist your guests stay for three nights a rule I would seriously question but if the old kayaks are being used then, if you want to enjoy the view, you are restricted to perching on a chair outside your room which you share with your neighbour ours was a chain smoker.

I'm currently writing this review under a flickering light outside your bar, unfortunately the view is obscured by overgrown shrubs and the waves cannot be heard over the loud humming fridge. Clear the path to the look out and make this a feature. It is a really beautiful spot but we only knew to explore there as we saw it on the way in. Make a welcome pack. If your staff are too busy to greet your guests on arrival then you need to write a welcome pack.

Where should guests relax point them to your newly built areas , where can they take the kayaks to, walks, activities, wifi get this working , boat times etc. I would guess that no one you employ has ever worked in a mid-range hotel.

They need to learn how to talk to guests. Add flexibility to the boat taxi. This is incredibly restrictive. Either strike a better deal with the boat taxi or buy a small boat and do it yourself. This huge restriction and charge should be extremely clear on your website, at the moment it is not. This hotel has the potential to be fantastic, but it needs a huge amount of work.
